A Home for Serious Music Makers!

Hot! Music Notes, September 2012

THIS MONTH: By request, StudioJams.com goes a little bit country this month! All of our featured MUSICMAKERS reflect this. We start with one of Nashville’s most prolific and accomplished bassists, Dave Pomeroy. We also have a nice songwriting segment on the hit songwriting duo of Gary Baker & Frank Myers (“I Swear”) and a beautiful performance from another Nashville icon, mandolinist/vocalist Sonya Isaacs.

STUDIO JAMS MUSIC CLUB:  Again, some very nice and interesting stuff in the Music club this month, starting with not one, but TWO different MUSICLAB segments! First, we take a step into country music with an intimate session with country superstars Big & Rich (Big Kenny and John Rich). They share some of their history and perform a few of their more memorable hits with our host, violinist Tracy Silverman. Our second MUSICLAB session is with jam band bassist Oteil Burbridge (Tedeski Trucks Band, The Allman Brothers Band), hosted by fellow bassist Gerald Veasley. This was first posted last month, but due to some technical issues that made it difficult for many to view, we thought we would keep it up for another month. Plus, we go “In The Studio,” with noted LA sound engineer George Landress as he shares some of his history along with some important recording tips.  As usual, there is another complete episode of Studio Jams to enjoy – this time it’s Episode #27, with Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, guitarist Chuck Loeb, bassist Gerald Veasley, pianist Chuck Leavell and saxophonist Tim Ries. Plus, another free unreleased Studio Jams “Bonus Track” for you to download.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Editing work continues on 3 brand new episodes of  Studio Jams, each with a unique set of A-list musicians, including guitarists Peter White, Peppino D’Agostino and Mark Doyle, bassists Gerald VeasleyBennie Sims and Ron France, keyboardists Jason LongDonald Robinson and Mark Nanni, and so many others. PLEASE STAY TUNED!

COMING SOON: Features on bassist Gerald Veasley, World Champion Accordionist Stas Venglevski ,Bonnie Raitt guitarist George Marinelli and slide guitar master Sonny Landreth…all this – and much more – coming up on StudioJams.com.

“I love the show! It’s a rare glimpse into the creative possess of the genius. This is a “Godsend” to those of us who are jazz lovers and fledgling musicians.”
