Chick Corea

Chick Corea (piano) This is a wonderful session with legendary pianist/composer Chick Corea. Hosted by critically-acclaimed bassist Gerald Veasley, the session was recorded at the Boyer School of Music on the campus of Temple University in Philadelphia, PA. It features dialogue, demonstration and a few intimate performances from this major music icon. Of particular note is a fresh, totally unrehearsed performance of his classic composition “Spain,” with Gerald joining him on bass guitar. View Episode

This is a performance track of the song “The Chicken” taped as part of Studio Jams Episode #38. It features a great cast of characters, including guitarist Jeff Golub (Rod Stewart, Billy Squire), bassist Victor Bailey (Weather Report, Joe Zawinul’s Syndicate, The Brecker Brothers, Mike Stern, Chuck Loeb), Matt King on keyboards (Gil Parris, Chuck Loeb), and drummer Anton Fig (The Late Show with David Letterman, Ace Frehley, Joe Bonamassa and many others).View Clip

Audio Downloads
Bonus Studio Jams Tracks; recorded at various sessions but never used in completed episodes.

“Swedish Spring” (6:56) This track was recorded on July 15, 2007 at The Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, Denmark as we taped Episode #34 of Studio Jams. It features Soren Reiff on guitar, Henrik Engqvist on drums, Jannik Jensen on bass and Poul Reimann on keyboards. This was the first take of the tune from the session. We used the second take of the song in the completed episode. It is an original song written by guitarist Reiff, one of the most respected guitarists in Sweden and Denmark. He is also an accomplished Musical Director.

“Winelight” (8:53) This track was recorded on August 25, 2005 at Milkboy Recording Studios in Ardmore, PA as we taped Episode #25 of Studio Jams. It features Nick Colionne on guitar, Chico Huff on bass, David Mann on saxophones, Edgardo Cintron on percussion and Daryl Burgee on drums. This jazz classic was written and made famous by the late, great saxophonist Grover Washington, Jr.
