Music Notes, April 2012
THIS MONTH: Our Featured Artist is master guitarist Tuck Andress…Tuck is a world-class musician; an internationally recognized guitarist, composer and educator. He is a fan of our program and was part of the inspiration that helped create Studio Jams. As our Featured Artist this month, for a limited time, pricing for Studio Jams Episode #1 (featuring Tuck) has been reduced by 20%. We were also able to spend a few minutes with a few other important MUSICMAKERS, including critically-acclaimed producer Jason Miles. His current project, Global Noize, takes live performance to a whole new – and very exciting – level. Always informative and entertaining, Jason shares his pointed views on the current “state of the industry” as well as the concept behind Global Noize. You can expect more on Jason and his exciting band in the cming months. Another new MUSICMAKER this month is drummer Dennis Chambers, so be sure to check him out too! Our Featured Festival is DuPont Clifford Brown Jazz Festival, now in its 24th year. The Clifford Brown Jazz Festival is a free, week-long, outdoor gathering held in the heart of downtown Wilmington, Delaware (USA). This year’s festival runs from June 18-24, 2012. Clifford Brown was a trumpeter, whose life tragically ended as a result of a car accident early one summer morning in 1956. At 25, Clifford Brown had already left an indelible mark on jazz. He was poised to take his place among the premier jazz trumpeters of his time (Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, etc.). The annual Clifford Brown Jazz Festival is a tribute to this great man and a way to keep his memory alive. It continues to be one of the more important jazz festivals in the Northeast United States.
COMING SOON: Next month will be a great one on StudioJams.com.
