The Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, Syracuse (NY), USA
The Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival is an exciting, fun-filled event on Syracuse’s hopping summer festival scene, an anchor of the regionally acclaimed Syracuse Arts Week, and the only festival of its kind east of the Rockies. Held on outdoor stages in Clinton Square, in the city’s bustling downtown center, this very popular 2-day event always offers a fun and diverse mix of music, food, drink, and entertainment for the whole family! Fans can always expect to see two days of first-class jazz and R&B music programming, with appearances by international jazz stars; impressive World Beat and Mardi Gras pavilions; popular Scholastic and Community band competitions; and late night jam sessions in nearby clubs.
In addition to A-list music, attendees can also discover and sample an always-impressive display of world-class wine brands in an air-conditioned Wine Pavilion in Clinton Square. Plus, festival wines are featured in many of the city’s downtown restaurants. The Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival is a great event that often flies under the radar…but if you love the elegant combinatin of jazz and wine, it is well worth a visit.
And if you’re coming from out-of-town…take note. Although the city has a number of nice hotels within short distance of the festival, we HIGHLY recommend the surprisingly affordable Sheraton, just up the hill on the campus of Syracuse University. Modern décor, nice scenic views of both the city and the campus, a great restaurant, convenient parking and an outstanding staff…the Sheraton/Syracuse University has it all. Plus, they offer free shuttle service to and from the festival.
